Morning Ian, morning all.
Bright and sunny here again.
Not sure it will get as hot as yesterday where we hit 26c...

I spent of all of yesterday photographing Clacton Lifeboats RNLI 200 year celebration and charter signing so sorry for my absence on here.

Off to the boat in a minute where I shall be spending most of the day editing those photos !

Here is a photo I took of Boris late yesterday afternoon when I got home.

Good morning all,

Sadly being on the equator, we didn’t get to see the northern lights.

Tomorrow I am seeing the vascular consultant surgeon to discuss the latest MRI results, then in the afternoon it’s physio to improve the legs and back.

Wednesday, eye specialist to check on cataracts and on Thursday we are seeing the skin specialist who wants to do an all over checkup for skin cancer. One of the downsides of being here is the high altitude at 6,000 feet and 10 months of sunshine during the year.

Last time I saw the dermatologist, he offered a chemical peel all over the face and the top of the head. He claimed he could take off 30 years!

A cream is applied deeply and the dead skin falls off or has to be cut off taking all of the lines and wrinkles away and for a while, the face is red raw, scabby and painful to touch. The chemical peel is not cheap at £400.

We have a neighbour who had it done, her face and head was red raw with the peeling for a few months. I will decline and grow old with dignity :)

We thought we would get our health appointments sorted before flying to the UK.

What is everyone up to?

That sounds like you have a few problems having to deal with Phil, I hope things are better next time you post here.

What a sweetie Boris is. :luvya: Just been out to the ASDA to get a bit of shopping in & the apple juice stores are looking good again.:D
I picked up a carton of mixed fish bits so it'll be a seafood paella for tea tonight. :drool4:

I think my overall mood has improved since, I stopped reading the forum completely.
I went to the dr about 3 weeks ago this coming Friday and he increased my daily depression pills per day, and a few things got me a bit down, but nothing as I have been in last couple of months.
The DVLA still haven’t send my driving licence so until it comes I can’t insure or send van for service and mot.

You can't get quality can you. My ciggy rolling machine looks like its going to give up the ghost soon, the cloth that does the actual rolling is wearing away, has a hole in it. I mean I've only had it for forty years!

I was surprised to discover you can actually replace the cloth. Not a clue how you'd remove and refit? Dunno if I can get one locally (when did you last see a proper tobacconist shop?) or will have to mail order.

Roses grow on You!

My first rose of the year. Very happy with it.

We’ve had one out for a few days but strangely it’s right at the bottom of the bush barely visible amongst the lavender:shrug:

Is it the machine that makes the ciggy as you shut the box... Replacement -'blinds' are available on eBay and Amazon...

Yeah, had it for must be 40 years (if not longer), got it not long after starting on the railway and that was way back in 1980. I was looking at new machines online and was surprised you can replace the cloth or “blind” as they call it. I have one of the more basic gizmos . . . . somewhere in amongst the cr@p in the garage! Looked earlier but no idea where it might be.
