hinckley meet

it would seem that there is a few people would like to have a meet up in Hinckley .
so lets see if we can get the ball started.
there seems to be interest in a midweek meet up.

so we need to start looking for a place and time to get started.

ideas anyone.

first place that comes to mind is the milestone pub or the windmill as its known as by the locals .
big car park round the back .
think we need to start looking at getting this off the ground due to the nights drawing in.

EVENT DISCLAIMER

Please be aware this is not an official 75 & ZT Owners Club meet and as such is not covered by the Club’s public liability insurance. Also the Owners Club take no responsibility for the meet/event in any way

How about 27 or 28 August 7.30pm?

starbug2 19th August 2014 18:19

mid week meets always a lucky dip with me as my getting back is very pop luck at times . i would have to see almost on e day if i can make it , such is life for a long distance lorry driver....

Steve42 19th August 2014 19:18

I know how you feel. I work nights and at the week end so sort of same problem.
Most meets are at the weekend so thats me out. Or I have to book holiday off.

hinckley meet

Great news......!!!! NOT....!!!

She who must be obeyed borrowed the " spoilt one" to pop over to her workplace for a couple of hours, earlier this evening, bearing in mind R75 had been polished and waxed over the weekend, whilst parked outside work a SUV decided to mate with the " spoilt one"....!! Luckily no one was hurt and the female driver didn't drive off but reported the incident....it was also witnessed by a neighbour...looks like a new front offside wing, trim, chrome door mirror and door skin repair....:duh:
Will take to garage in the morning, as it still drives, I still intend to drive the R75 if safe to do so if not I will attend in the Chevvy Orlando, whatever, myself and a fellow enthusiast-David- will be there.

Just hope the insurance dont write the R75 off.....

Many thanks for the offer of a cuppa. It will depend on whether I'm collecting Banana or not. I'll try and let you know as soon as I can.

Hope all goes well. Always another meet to go to another time.

I'm aiming to go straight to the pub and get there about 7.30pm. Roughly a 2 1/2 hour run for me. I'll be bringing The Flying Banana.

I will see you there this evening Bob, as it is only 20 mins from where I live.

FLYING BANANA 27th August 2014 15:03

Great set of pictures of the meet....like the "slight scuff" bit....just shows what parking on the side of the road outside work can do! nowhere is safe today...got over the embarrassment now, so happy for photo if you took one to be shown....after all we have all seen it before....

Wolfie 28th August 2014 10:36

Great night, and really enjoyed meeting everyone, and great pics Bob although now i wished I had washed it before I came down. Maybe we can have the next one near a hand car wash...... or we go into the pub first so no one can see how dirty it is...

Steve42 30th August 2014 13:44

Hand car wash now there's a thought. I would go for that

Hinckley meet

hello all,
just off the phone with the milestone pub.
after a few emails and the one phone call as of 1000 today.
the table set up will be the same as last time. but they are ok for us to move tables as was done last time.
only way I can get tables set up ready was if we are for booking meals.

sorry but did try for a room or to have tables set up ready.

so will see all that are coming around 1930 in the car park.
who is the first for Halfords ?

one other thing to put forward do we want a meet up for a Christmas meal same place. I understand people are going to be busy its just a idea.

thanks all steve

Anthony & Maricel 10th October 2014 09:27

I will be eating this time Steve, I also like the idea of a Christmas meal.

Steve42 10th October 2014 10:02

if enough want to have the meal then will try and book a table for us.
but if just a few want it may as well just turn up

but see what happens over the next week.

starbug2 10th October 2014 16:56

bev would need to know for certain about eating by a certain time as her tummy it plays up be time if she don't eat within certain times

Steve42 10th October 2014 17:42

That not a problem just thought I would ask the question.
If enough of us want to meet up for a meal then I would book up.
seems as its the only way I can get a booked table.:D

FLYING BANANA 10th October 2014 17:57

Steve42 12th October 2014 16:15

More than likely my fault.
What I mean is.
If we want a last meet up befour Xmas . Do we want to make it a Xmas meal and meet up.
If so I would book us tables.

Thanks Steve

Lovely evening 12 cars in total including the Mini.

But getting home was a nightmare. M1 shut and the at junction 3 the A14 was shut.
!25 miles going and 155 miles coming home. But never saw any Tourers parked in lay by's.

Will post up pictures later.

chris65 17th October 2014 01:08

Hinckley meet

Great night Steve, thanks,Bob,glad you got back safely,A45&A46 closed for us,but not such a big detour as yours,About 8or 9 police cars in lay by on M69,looked serious, but did not see a tourer!!!.

Gunner RA 17th October 2014 07:52

Thats where the cars with the blues and two's on were heading. Saw lots of laybys on the way home but no tourers or bed delivery trucks.

Steve42 17th October 2014 08:41

hi all,

thanks to all who came last night from far and wide. good to see you all. was a good night yet again.
hope all got back home safe and sound.
unlucky for them that got caught up the roads been closed or junctions been closed.
but look on the bright side. just think of all them laybys you managed to take a closer look at.:D:lovebirds:
the joy of driving.

would also like to say sorry over the tables c**k up.
I had not been informed by the pub that a table had been reserved for us.
in fact I had been told that we could move tables around as we did on the first meet.
i was informed that tables are only reserved for people that are eating.
again sorry for that.

a few have said that they would like a meet up for a xmas meal.
so need to get this going so we are not to late to book up.
first week in December has been put forward.
so anyone interested ?

again thanks to one and all that turned up. its all of you that makes it work.

Hinckley Meet

HRT? Don't you need a doctor for that? Or is it a hot flush for plenums?

Steve42 31st October 2014 10:45

a good old t 4 will do the trick.:D

biggles 1957 31st October 2014 15:57

I've recently got another 75 - had one soon after they came out for a couple of years- and live in Enderby so would be interested in coming along to a local meet. My local branch of the Morris Minor O/C meets at The Greyhound in Botcheston which is not far from Hinckley. Just thought I'd mention it as they do good food - although the car park isn't huge. Just in case you are looking for an alternative to the Windmill place

Xavier 31st October 2014 16:20

Steve surely it would have to be HR&MGT just to be completely PC lol .......

Steve42 31st October 2014 17:32

:Dtrue lol

Steve42 31st October 2014 17:38

biggles welcome to the fold.

Steve - my mum in law is in hospital so I'm not sure if I can make it or not but would I be able to turn up on the night or do you need firm numbers? Regards Bob

Steve42 16th November 2014 19:08

biggles 1957

hi biggles ,
sorry to hear about your mum.
mine is also in hospital in Birmingham at the moment. been in for 6 weeks now. never thought i would get fed up of longbridge as that's where my old 75 was made but pass it every day.
have a table booked for 10 at the moment so as it stands you should be ok.
but keep a eye on the forum. i did tell them i would get back to them close to the night to confirm numbers.

hope all goes well with your mum.

thanks steve

Wolfie 17th November 2014 16:36

Hi Steve have you got room for a little one if so add me to your list sorry to hear about your mum we have a friend whose little girl is in queens notts it's costing them arm and leg in car parking too many thanks see you at the mill

Steve42 17th November 2014 19:35

Should not be a problem.
Sorry to hear about the little girl. Nothing worse than having a little one in hospital.
Car parking is a pain. Ok you can pay for the week or even a month.
But how do you know how long someone is in hospital for.
but what gets me our local hospital dont set the charges or get anything from the fees

fencer75 18th November 2014 19:24

Hi Steve
Sorry forgot to confirm...myself and Jaguar David, will be there too :}
See you all then.

tweek08 19th November 2014 18:15
