twaters63 27th September 2011 19:47

Well I've only had it a month and a full MOT was put on it the morning I brought it not impossible I suppose but I have no bulb failure light on the dash and I assume they must have been working when passing the MOT I was fitting DRL's this afternoon when I noticed

twaters63 27th September 2011 19:53

Cheers poppy it does make sense that I'll check tomorrow ( and yes I did indeed mean BCFC!! Living in Sunderland and still a season ticket holder)

So do the DLR's work ok, and do they go off when you turn on the sidelights.

I assume indicators work ok, and you have tried a different fog relay.

I am not certain that the front fogs are on the canbus or not because they are not obligatory, they just have to work if fitted, so you may not get a dash error, but you would not get a click if the bulbs have blown so check them

If so.

What do you mean by this
"a clicking sound from the front offside when the button is depressed to switch on and also off"
Do you mean you hear A click each time you push the fog button, or clicking

The only click from the OS can come from the LSM

You removed bumper, fitted DLR's refitted bumper = no fogs. Guess what
Well it should not take you too long to get the bumper off :D

You need to eliminate anything you may have done.

Whip the bumper off and unplug the harness, if the click dissapears connect a test bulb to the fog supply pin on the harness from the car. If it works with no click when fog button is depressed, it must be the demand side of the harness in the bumper.

Connect the fogs from the bumper harness direct to the battery. I will take it for granted you earth the trest bulb and the bumper harness
If the fogs work ok I will be amazed and stumped if you connect back up and have the same problem.

Hiya Develish your a proper nocturnal creature 3 0 clock in the morning I was hitting some serious Z's then!!
DRL's fitted but not connected yet waiting for a relay off EBay which will turn them off when sidelights or Dipped Beam is switched on.
I tried fog lights before the bumper was disconnected mate also clicking noise is on pressing button to illuminate the lights also clicks on re pressing to click off
Will follow your instructions above and report back later..... Cheers your becoming quite invaluable mate!!!
It appears it is the demand on the harness I'm going to wire direct to battery as suggested both bulbs are ok!!
