Rover 75 con.2.5V6 Tourer Electrics (hanging plug)

Had the old bus for a few years now,but in todays clean down and out (no wet stuff from above!)I came across a plug hanging down from drivers seat.
Colour coding Green/Purple/Black.
Would appreciate knowing what it is for.
Mr Haynes doesn't cover seat electrics!!
Should point out that all actions on seat are in full working order.

I think it's for the seatbelt warning light which wasn't connected up on (most?) UK cars. Your description of the wire colours is similar to this thread: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...ad.php?t=65132

Matt your a star, thanks very much, didn't even realise we had seat belt warning lights, just need to get out and get under, see if i can find a socket that matches.

Incidentally note from your history you once owned a triumph Dolomite,I had its sister the triumph 1500 TC......drove like a tank!!! But that's another story.

Did try to give you official thanks but no thanks button available???

No problem at all, Derek. Happy to help. The other end of the connector might be tucked away under the carpet, possibly where the air vent pokes out. I believe the seat belt warning light was primarily for export vehicles as it may be required in some markets?

I still have the Dolomite, but unfortunately it's off the road at the minute pending some repairs. I'm replacing all the brake pipes and hoses as well as the front subframe bushes and some other bits and pieces. It's booked into some events in March so I need to pull my finger out. For a 50 year old car it drives quite well and is pretty comfortable, but the 75 is in a different league!

The thanks button disappeared after an update about a year ago, unfortunately.

Matt is correct photo below.

But you will need new seat belt tensioners

I think you can buy the seat belt mechanism and have it turned on with a T4 number 7 in the graph below.

wish you well with the dolly, used to have a similar thing about triumph herald 13/60,s
but the rover adventure took care of that, have now had rover 75's in all shapes and sizes since approx 2006/7 just couldn't be without one!!!

Thanks for update on the "Thanks" button, seems a daft amendment to me,but I guess they have their reasons!

Good to hear from you, rear brake compensator still doing a Stirling job!!!

Thanks for the added info, but words such as need and buy tend to put me off!!I hate to think what I have spent on 75,s over the years. So I think I will pass on this one as I know if I have or haven't got my seat belt on!!
Cheers Derek
