temperature gauge

good morning people,

i wonder if anyone can offer me any advice please?

i have a ZT-T diesel and the temp gauge doesn't work, i have looked around the forum for an answer but cant seem to find one.

i ran the instrument pod diagnostic and all the gauges and lights work, all apart from the temp gauge.

i have tried disconnecting the sensor from the head, and that makes the fans come on, so i assume its the actual gauge at fault.

is this something that can be repaired?

thanks for reading

Hi, If you're handy with multimeters,you can test the sensor as itself.
knowing it's a ECT resistor ;

some values:

0 degrees=4580 ohms
10 degrees =4350 ohms
20 "" =4016 ohms
100 =936 oms

Good luck

ok, but if the gauge didn't work during test, doesn't that suggest the gauge is at fault?

i shall test the sensor this morning, thank you for the figures :)

If the values measured are coherent ,check wiring ...contacts etc...

See if the temperature is displayed in Diagnostic Mode. If it is, the fault lies in the gauge or its connection and not the underlying system/ECU/kbus.
