hi yesterday spent the afternoon changing the rear shocks after my bilstiens sprung a leak.all went well apart being a tourer all the back end had to come out .anyway drove it today and it sounds like it is about to fall apart the noise is awful their is a bad rattle . i am my wits end the only thing i think off have i over tightened the bottom bolts effectivley locking up the rear end ?i just did them up until the dynamic absorbers did not rotate.failing a cure for this anyone want to buy a ztt:mad:

Here's Rimmer's Tourer rear shocker diagram.

Lower mounting bolt (3) has washer (11) under its head.
This bolt should be torqued to 114ftlb/155Nm
Data from the Haynes manual.

Are you sure the upper mounting is OK? I'd expect more rattle from there than the lower one.

Are the bolts a good fit in the sleeve.
Maybe the others shocks had smaller bolt holes !!
