or buy a punto!!! for 15 miles per day and use the beast at weekends!!

If you are doing 15 miles per day ( I'm assuming it's a combined and not a sinle jouney), you'll probably get 18 - 20 mpg. My jouney is 20 miles each way and I can get 25mpg very comfortably.

The KV6 warms up in a mile or two, should be getting at least 25 mpg even on short trips. I would get car checked out on a T4.

That's it in a nutshell if you doing short journeys and like pressing the loud pedal then that's about right for the mpg.

When i first got mine i thought i had a serious fuel leak then realised someone had lined my boots with LEAD.

If your buy a V6 and have a heavy right foot and are concerned about mpg then sell it and buy the diesel model.

It isn't going to match your previous cars mpg no where near.

So just keep fueling her and enjoy to the max mate.

Your economy will increase dramatically if you get a couple of speeding tickets.;)
If i take it easy i can get 100miles per section of my fuel gauge, round town 18mpg.
Just enjoy.

running it normally when the warning light comes on i get between 320 to 350 miles on a tankful

StevenWilliams 26th March 2009 16:57

I've been running with the fuel light on for the last week.
The trip still says I have 57 miles before I need to fill up.

It might have been something to do with an enjoyable drive last weekend where my right foot was very heavy. Not fast just 0-quick in a very short distance. Damn that loud pedal.

Not with a modern engine.

At the end of the day the car is burning fuel when idling. You may as well be going somewhere rather than burning fuel.

The engine will not be fully efficient for the first mile or so but it will reach it's best operational temp quicker if you are using the engine while it warms up.
