Alternatively Deb could be saying - So you reach in and find the spring, hook your thumb under a lower coil, hook your fingers over a higher coil, squeeze and pull. And that's how you get a coil spring out the easy way lads ;)

When I worked at the GEC Witton on leaving skool, 1955, we used to make generators for the navy. We used a white paint on parts (secret) that was oil and waterproof. Wish I could get hold of a couple of gallons of that paint now. My car would be all white underneath the body. Meanwhile I will have to carry on using Waxoyle.
