75 Fuel Economy

Hello guys,
I have a 75 with a freelander engine. For over 6months now, my fuel economy has been poor and the check engine light on. The local service station here has not been of help as they keep tampering with the irrelevant areas. Please, I would need helpful hints on what areas or parts to be checked and replaced. Thank you.

Have you checked the vis motors (do a search, plenty written about them),engine check light is probably your lambda sensors on the exhaust.

As your profile says you have a 2.0L V6 then the Freelander engine is the wrong one for your car, your ecu is set up for a 2 litre engine, running a 2,5L with different camshaft timing, larger injectors it not surprising the MIL is on, fuel consumption high and i bet the power is down aswell!!

More wasted effort. The guy never came back.

Most annoying when you try your best and they can't be bothered.--
