H9 -v- H11 (main beam) halogen bulbs
 

Anyone ever successfully fitted H11 main beam bulbs? I'm being given conflicting information from bulb suppliers. I'm referring to halogens, not LEDs.

My main beams are H9. Osram and Philips don't produce uprated H9s but they do produce updated H11s. My usual supplier tells me categorically that H11s are different to H9s, whereas many other suppliers large and small categorically state that they are identical. They all agree that H9/H11 LEDs are interchangeable.

Somewhat conflicting info.

I've just been sent a couple of helpful photos by my supplier. They do show some differences in the two pins which may or may not be work-roundable. :shrug: I've ordered a cheap (£7) pair of H11s from Amazon to experiment with.

The bulb on the left is the H9.

You'll need to cut out the central plastic pin in the middle, then it'll fit. Been there, done that 😎
