Xenon auto level sensor arm broken

I have noticed that my xenons are only lighting the road about 5 metres in front of my car. Driving on unlit roads has become a real problem. So I took the front and rear drivers side wheels off to check the auto levelling sensor arms. Unfortunately the front arm was hanging down. It seems the metal bracket that attaches the sensor arm has corroded and sheared off. So I need to source a replacement. I've looked on rimmers and it appears they only sell the sensor unit as a whole and want over £100! Does anyone know if you can just buy the arm and bracket?

Chris

Xpart sell it complete, but it's all of BMW origin...

They may well sell the arms separately. I'll have a look a bit later on when I get a chance.

Cheers Dave. Just seems extortionate price when it's only the metal bracket that's knackered.

Chris

I've had a quick look, but can't spot the clip and arm....as the BMW front suspension is different.

I'll keep looking.

The sensor and arms look very similar, but the mountings appear to be different.

Unfortunately my BMW EPC doesn't cover the Mini.

Does the rover bracket fit on the side of the wishbone, ie vertically or across the top of it, horizontally, if that makes sense?

I would have thought you should be able to make something which would do the job. All you need is a strip of thin metal you could wrap all the way around the suspension arm, with a pair of hole where it meets to enable a nut and bolt to be fitted, then an extra hole for the ball joint. I would think the galvanised version of 'All Round Band' would do it. It is a strip of thin steel drilled with a series of holes sold by electrical wholesalers, heating parts companies and a/c type companies - either galv or plastic covered steel.

Thanks guys. I did make a temporary bracket when trying to sort the problem yesterday. Just got home and had a look and its still in place, however, the headlights were still pointing low again this morning. i can hear the lights adjust when i first turn them on, but they then point low.

The back sensor arm seems fine. Any ideas or am i gonna be facing a new sensor? :(
