It won't be a problem now, full subframe fitted as the bloomin captive nut did its usual trick!

Phill_190 19th April 2017 21:06

Oh god... im worried about getting my suspension all renewed now haha!!

7T5 20th April 2017 08:39

Mine is getting a bit rusty, no where near as bad as this. Wirebrushed it up and waxoiled it. For future how which is a subframe for a saloon?

genpk 20th April 2017 09:31

My god, never seen a car so young with rust like that!!
All the 75s Ive owned / worked on over here in Australia still have their proof coat on under the cars, albeit a bit dusty and dirty.
You get rust,we get stone chips and faded paint- pick your poison!!

RPWC 20th April 2017 10:20

Bit of fibreglass and it will be ok.:getmecoat:

Lovel 20th April 2017 10:34

I can make up my mind what's worse, but these must be a contender for the prize.

I changed this one when the wheel started to scrape the inner wheel well soon after I got the car.

Crikey that is bad - after the horror stories on here I had a really good look at mine last summer and jet washed them one week then wire brushed and rustproofed the next. But before bothering with all that I took a small hammer and checked everywhere I could for solid metal

Happy to say I found nothing but the nice "ring" of sold metal. I will be checking it all again this summer and applying another coat of wax ready for next winter.

I have heard that cars from the colder north of the country suffer more because of the road salt?? Not sure if that is true but when I jet washed mine out I was amazed at the sandy soil that came out.

trikey 21st April 2017 07:42

Strangely the opposite side was in good condition!

LotusLC 21st April 2017 07:53

Bit of bondo and send it on its way.................Only kidding that is a bit far gone

coab 21st April 2017 11:28

A decent spray of stone chip will sort that out!;)

trikey 21st April 2017 11:29

A full subframe fitted now along with new shocks, can't have Deb running about with it like that!

That is absolutely terrible in my time dismantling I have not seen one that bad, I guess the rear spring had not been fitted correctly and it's blocked the waterways due to poor alignment
Pretty shocking Mate

kbonney88 21st April 2017 14:21

I agree - defo alot worse than any I have seen..

I currently have 2 arms to change on a 75 asap and I thought they were bad - but they are defo not as bad as that one..

Kev :)

Technically yes, but as it's on the bottom of the spring, it's a bottom arm.

No nige, it's from debs new car, her blue one has had new arms too lol

BigRuss 22nd April 2017 12:24

The ones on my 05 plate tourer were about the same absolutely rotten. The ones on my launch car are almost perfect just goes to show there can be a great difference in the time they can corrode.
