Walsall Council .. you couldn't make it up

This is in Darlaston West Midlands, double yellows painted but there was a car parked, so they painted around it. :duh: Some parent must be so proud. :D

Round it or over it. :D

That's brilliant - whoever was parked there now has their very own, perfectly sized space :D :duh:

It has been know for a Council when painting lines to remove the car, put it back then give it a ticket ....

It was cancelled on appeal though ........

Once when I visited Rippon in North Yorkshire I parked up, went shopping and came back to find I was on double yellows that had not been there before. They had lifted my car to paint the lines and then put the car back again.

Thankfully there was no parking ticket involved and I moved asap - but it was a strange and unsettling experience.

It was much better when four big lads could bounce the car out of the way and we'd not get into trouble!

The world's gone mad now, I do, to some extent feel sorry for some councils, trying to do the impossible in many ways.

The work will no doubt have been done by a sub contractor, probably working on behalf of the councils main contractor.

The risk of a part finished job, outweighs the risk of coming back again and having another car parked there. Sometimes it's easier to get cracking and do what you can, often when you get working people come and move parked cars, even if they've previously stated they don't own them!

Hi
Sorry but what did you expect them to do ?
The street will have had a letter drop and or signs would have been put in the street giving notice of the work being carried out at a certain date and time

So a team of men turn up and a car is parked (even after being told not to )on the road do they

1 All go home and come back another day
2 Go to the next job which could be anywhere as they are probably sub contractors
3 Not bother at all
4 Put the markings up to the car and return later to complete the job because someone has either gone on holiday and is unable to move the vehicle it's broken down or they just couldn't be bothered to comply with the instruction.

Regards
Steve

PS the answer is number 4
Or they would be considered an idiot council that sent everyone letters and put up signage then never turned up to complete the work

You could legally park anywhere along those double yellow lines as they have not been capped at the end's ;).
