Front Spring Type?

My cherished (05) 75 Contemporary CDTI has just suffered a broken offside front spring (fortunately it went a few hundred yards from home!!).

I need to find the correct spring type for my vehicle - on a previous post I read that the spring details can be found under the rear seat squab. I have looked under the squab and cannot locate any details - can anyone advise please.

Also as I now have an additional large tread groove inmy front tyre the mention in a previous post of a 'tyre protector' sounds sensible - how does this work and where does it fit?

Hi,
The sticker / label with the spring and damper information usually resides on the passenger side, underneath the soundproofing, under the rear seat. (Just in case you hadn't checked under the soundproofing).
Someone else will be along to give details on how to fit the Spring protectors, but I gather it is only 3 screws, and is very easy to fit.

Ps, my 06 contemporary cdti saloon had "blue-green" springs.

I am feeling as though I was fortunate as my MG ZT 190 is in for MOT and they found the lower support for one of the rear springs was very badly corroded, and would have broken and disintegrated at some point soon... now waiting for the part to be delivered (looks like a tennis racket apparently!) and once fitted, all might be well... but had it gone, I would be in the same situation myself. Definitely worth checking those on a car when buying.

Front Spring Type?

Thank you for the helpful replies - I have now located the spring codes.

The label looked totally blank at first view but on very close examination it was just possible to decipher the badly faded PM & JM (Green/Grey).

I also found the safety recall document online describing the installation of the tyre protector.

Replacement springs and tyre protector kit now ordered from Rimmer so all is well.
