More Lincolnshire finds...
On the way back from an ecu repair today, we managed to find this in someone's front garden!
Better than a gnome any day of the week, Deb had a chat with the owner who is more than happy to chat about the planes history and let folks take piccies 😎😎 https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...48243014a4.jpg |
WOW, good find Andy. English Electric Lightning fighter. When these things took off and climbed near vertical it was very spectacular. :D:D:D:D
|
He might have more than one of them ... he certainly did at one time. :}
|
Flipping heck Andy, how do you find em? :cool:;).
|
they have one in a museum near me, very impressive and they let me sit in the cockpit. apparently massively fast even by today's standards
|
How cool :cool: I remember one of those besides the A1 many years ago near Grantham!

It finally got broken up, the cockpit section being saved for a museum. |
Years ago The Buck Pub in Chop Gate had a Lightening jet in the rear garden. Was there for a while, then I believe the Council got involved....and no more jet. Killjoy mode I expect.
|
Did it come from Binbrook?
I was lucky enough to witness 'The Last Lightning Show'.Was the best airshow I've ever been to :bowdown: |
