Whats best for cleaning upholstery?
 

Hi guys,
I have a Club se with sand cloth upholstery. What do you recommend to clean this? Have tried the Auto Glym interior shampoo and was OKish but not spectacular! The upholstery is NOT too grubby even tho done almost 108000 miles, but does need a freshen up.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I used a Vax machine on my Pug 206 with the upholstry attachment, the seats & carpet were light green and a magnet for muck.

I chose a hot summer day and started early in the morning, blitzed the front seats and front carpets.

Once I'd finished, parked in the sunlight with the windows open just a tiny bit, and let the heat of the sun dry it out completely.

The results were not quite as good as I'd hoped for, but better than using a spray such as you've used.

What's best for cleaning the upholstery?? I'd have to say the wife! :lol:

Damn, I've just noticed the obvious problem with 'the wife' cleaning the upholstery. She'd have to leave the kitchen to do so! Can't have that can we guys?? I guess I'll have to use the kids instead.:D

That'll be fine as long as you don't give her any shoes to wear, and I sincerely hope she is pregnant as usual. :D

The Autoglym stuff normally works fine for me. I hoover the seats etc first and then damp the fabric slightly, then use a soft scrubbing brush to work the shampoo in, damp cloth to wipe off the grime and a bucket of warm water for lots of rinsing out. Change the water for each panel you do to prevent transferring any muck accidentally.

Headlining are the biggest pain I find, but Autoglyym shifts shoe polish so it's my first choice.

I always use Tuff Stuff - used it on my grubby Metro carpet came up looking like new. Also used it on some chairs at work to clean them. They came up like new too.

Easy, get the other half on the job :)
