MG7 Sport

Just found these two pictures. Its the new NAC MG7 Sport shown at the Qingdao Car Show. The interior has the ZT style dashboard instead of more 75 based one's that's been shown on the MG7. The front grille is the facelift ZT but note the bottom of of the bumper is different. Looks good to me just wished they'd bring it over here.

Its really rreally annoying me this.

The car looks superb and whilst I still think the dash in the 75/ZT is one of the nicest places to be it DOES need some updating and NVH improvements.

The seats look like they've been plucked straight from Longbridge. :(

They are apparently still putting these shells and interiors together with left over parts, plus panels manufactured there. Nothing wrong with that, I'd like to know more of the mechanical side and what exactly is going on in that department.

The dash looks black oak or even piano black... thing is whilst I think the car is stunning its lost its appeal for me because sadly its not made in Britain and nor is it owned by a British company. I really liked it when MG Rover was under the control of PVH even though the end was invevitable from the outset... perhaps i'm daft supporting British underdogs buts that me.

I'll probably support Jaguar next but the need a new X-type for me to purchase. The current one is just too old

Well yes I knew that but its the next best thing... Built in a British factory.. not 6000 thousand miles away with equipment lifted and shifted from MG Rover's Longbridge home. I won't ever buy a Chinese made ZT or whatever its called this week

I note that the Land Rover - Jaguar sale hasn't gone through yet... Ford still own them

Jules 29th May 2008 22:52

I'd rather buy a Chinese ZT than a anything Ford, Renault or Nissan:p:

But doing that isn't supporting a British workforce. When they make things again at Longbridge then i'll support them. I'm actually hanging on as I want another MG but it has to be made/assembled on British soil
