Hi,
I bought my first proper camera at the end of last year in anticipation for my trip to Japan.... I'm still learning, but these type of pics fascinate me. I took this in Kyoto, standing on a bridge. I didn't use a really slow shutter speed because I was holding it by hand. What do you think? http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...8&d=1492974553 |
Looking good, I like this type of picture a lot, late at night with a 20-30 sec exposure on a tripod for the really long light trails..

Thanks!
Do you have any pictures you have taken that you can show? |

I used to do these years ago, mostly of trains and nowhere near as good as yours |

Here's one I did a year or so back:
http://i568.photobucket.com/albums/s.../aSAM_1637.jpg Somewhere up in our attic I should have a collection of pics I took back in the 80s. They were taken at night on the top level of one of the car parks at Heathrow. Just set the camera up on a tripod and caught various planes moving around the runways. :} I very much doubt you would be allowed to do such a thing these days, with security the way it is. Cliff |
Did some a few years ago can,t get images to show in post.(YET)

Yes, but I dont have the time or patience right now to do them lol
dont just limit yourself to night shots, get a bean bag or practice firing the shutter whilst leaning on the camera on a solid object (like a fence etc). A polariser is a great accessory to have, along with a tripod for daytime shots. They are not always good shots, but I found them to be interesting challenges https://flic.kr/p/4KaT1r this one was incredibly difficult, and in the end after an hour getting cold it started to rain. https://flic.kr/p/2yppvZ https://flic.kr/p/3pKJfn https://flic.kr/p/2poXvP Fireworks, dont always work (I didnt like anything I took that night, to me there was no interest in the shots) http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...3&d=1492987934 Autotest http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...5&d=1492988536 A rejected image for a Fuji competition entitled 'Time' (I am not allowed to post the one I submitted, since it won and they own the rights to it now. But in the winning one, the second hand was more obvious along with people and vehicles moving behind them) http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...4&d=1492988311 |
