Door speakers

1 Attachment(s)
Been contemplating changing the door speakers for a while now and been getting prices upto £100 per pair!. Tried some mid priced component ones for £49 and they were rank, no bass and couldnt handle the power. Have now purchased some ripspeed RS172 2 way units and i must say they are really good, 50w rms, big magnets and quality connectors! Only really availiable from the bay now as halfrauds dont sell them anymore but for around £15 a pair they are spot on. They are running off of an android head unit also from the bay £300 which is pretty good too. Just need an active sub to finish the job. Most ripseed stuff is pants but these speakers are good.:xmas-smiley-024::xmas-smiley-024:

Hi there.

Since you mention fitting a Sub, this is what I fitted and how I did it in this thread: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...hlight=Fitting

Sorry, a bit long-winded I know.

I just left my standard Speakers in the Doors but fitted Rear Tweeters as they are not fitted as standard, although it looks like they are...???

I'm very happy with the results as I can just filter out the low frequencies from the door speakers alleviating any distortion from them, and just having the Mids and Tops filling in.

I did take a video, but it was on a Cellphone so not the greatest reproduction I'm afraid, but it will give you an idea of the improvement it has, even with the standard speakers!

The distortion you hear is from the Phone Mic, not the speakers. So isn't really a true reflection of the quality, sorry..... :(

That's a pity, because Coolcat's products are very good, and the after sales service, and help is worth any extra costs that 'Might' be involved. Worth an inquiry perhaps ? IMHO.

Hi Alf,

Thanks for the recommendation :)
The poster has already purchased his speakers though Sir .

He was posting his findings on them for the bargain eBay price he bought them for ;)
