Metal support frame of tailgate glass window
Anyone else had problems with rust in the above area - both externally and, I think, on the inside?

Tailgate window frame rust
I have a spare tailgate window which I picked up a few years ago. The hardest thing, which I haven't managed to do yet is separate the metal frame from the glass. Part of the frame has separated from the glass but there still remains
a massive application of black bituminous-type adhesive still bonding the two together. Other owners have had problems with the elements 'corroding' where they emerge from the hidden bus-bars, still under the metal frame. |
Neighbour has a 75 tourer, 51 reg. During a recent trip thru a car wash his rear screen with 'ripped' out reveling extensive hidden corrosion. His fix, copious amounts of silicon and duct tape :duh:

Without removing the glass from the frame, will injecting an anti-rusting agent to the inside of the frame cause any damage to electrical circuit of the elements? Anyone any experience of doing this? Cheers, Dave |
