Asthma?

New studies making progress:-
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-68731197
My asthma triggers are mainly smoke or dust related, so keeping away/protecting myself from both seem to keep my attacks to a minimum. However, it is not always possible to completely avoid them (open fires, dust from processes (farming and building works etc) so I always have my blue inhaler at the ready and use the brown one as a preventative. We've had to be very careful when booking holidays etc., that there are no open fires in the property ( Even the open fireplace when not in use can set me off !)

Any fellow wheezery geezers or gals out there similar?

I read that as well, very interesting. My late Great Niece, a Doctor, died in her mid twenties from Brittle Asthma. It as never call the doctor it was blue lights all the way.

At a younger age I was inclined to Asthma and other allergies, I note the article uses the words, "Inhalers MAY help", at last, medics who are not bound by what they were told about. They do NOT work for me.

May the research move ahead with as much speed as possible, finance should not be allowed to limit their work.

Hmmm, having spent 25 years producing Asthma/COPD/HIV drugs I can tell you the amount of finance going into the R&D is eye watering. The reason why there may be a dearth in new product introduction is that governments want drugs at knock-down prices but the pharma companies need to make big profits to plough ever increasing amounts into the research. The drug is often only patent protected for ten years and unless the drug is in vast volume production the company will not have covered R&D costs and thus not bother with the introduction.

At one time, one of my clients was Roche in Basle.

I am only too aware of those eye watering sums that are invested and of course the dead ends that do of course also exist. The Pharma industry is always targeted by those who do not understand

Yeah, I had mates who worked, or previously worked, at Roche, Welwyn Garden City.

Too many in positions to baulk progress with nit picking.

I can relate to the struggle of avoiding smoke and dust, especially when it's not always possible to steer clear of them. That's why having reliable medication is crucial. Speaking of which, I've found great relief through the Canadian Pharmacy Partnership. They offer a wide range of asthma medications at affordable prices, making it easier to stay prepared for any triggers that come my way. It's always a relief to know I have access to the medication I need, no matter where I am.
