New ICE Sat Nav idea
I've been looking about for a while for a built in Sat Nav unit for the 75. My preference was for a motorised single din system and I recently bought an Iovox fascia for the project.
While researching the various options, I came across this unit http://www.eclipse-web.com/avn2210p/index.html and http://www.tomtomduo.co.uk/ Its newish to the market and at the moment is available in the US only so you would have to put on the Tomtom European maps. The units can be purchased on ebay for less than £250 - although nearly all Sellers are US based so you may be caught for customs. I'm currently in "discussions" with a Seller to get one for £240. Basic features are:
I like the overall look of the unit, but I don't like the silver fascia on the Tomtom PND. The double din fitting brings us back to the double din fascia adaptor problem also. Any opinions? |
Nice idea but I'm not to keen on the overall look
http://www.tomtomduo.co.uk/images/to...ront_large.jpg i think the sliver front trim can be replaced with other colours |

I think the unit looks OK overall. It has orange buttons/lights so would suit the 75. I'm seriously considering this unit but the double din issue is also putting me off. |

That seems to have all the requirements of my dream machine - wonder what the sound quality is like? |

The double din fascia is holding me back a bit but I think I may have a solution to that also ;) So I'm :drool4: |

But for the Ipod cable I would have ordered and worked out the fascia problem at a later date |
Well I've done it :D
Ordered it for $470 inclusive of postage. Fingers crossed on the customs charges. Now for the double din fascia.... |
Well done :)
now keep us posted on the install and parts you use as this will be a very interesting install. Good luck with customs :) |
