mg zt 190 mpg?

I am in the process of deciding between an MG ZT-T diesel or petrol.

To help my decision I would like some real world MPG for the 190, does it average 30 on a mixed run or would 25 be more accurate? I don't drive like like a test pilot and your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, any advice from ZT-T 190 owners out there? Anything I should be aware of before buying?

Thank You

You had me confused for a minute there - I read the title of the thread as

MG ZT, (pause) 190mpg?

Must read this I thought!!

Still can't help, mine's a frugal diesel saloon

25 to a gallon is more realistic. If I get 300 miles to a tank, I'm happy!

The ZT190 is pretty sound. The only real weakspot is the inlet manifold. If you search the forums for "VIS" you'll find a fair bit of reading material!

I agree, 25-26 is about average, mind you a heavy right foot will bring it down
 Dave

Really depends on your annual mileage too.
If you do more than 6k a year you will earn massive savings opting for the diesel variant. (much as I love the V6's)!

I typically average 27-28mpg, occasionally more on a longer run, and less around town.

I'm disappointed if I don't get c350 - 370 miles from a tank, but still don't consider myself a dawdler. I do find first/second gears too short, so tend to use third from fairly low speeds, so that probably helps.

It all depends whether I'm on my own or have swmbo in the back, i average middle thirties on a family run(34mpg) or late twenties on my own. If i do a long journey early in the morning with no stops and constant speed i easily do over 35mpg cruising at between 70 and 80. Don't ask me about town driving tho' (18 mpg) and i said earlier on average i get 100 miles per gauge division(400 miles to the tank full)

I think the ZTs are a bit thirstier? I was happy looking at the trip computer on a long run showing 34.5 when I checked miles/Gallons, fill to fill, it came out at 28mpg on a 300 mile run. Cant get that on short runs:)

My holiday to France (Quimper) from Glasgow via Poole via Cherbourg and back (1750 miles all in) averaged 32.8 mpg (that was on the trip computer and calculated based on fill-ups). Realistically though in todays stop start traffic if I get much more than 25 mpg I think I'm doing well!

Your head tells you to go diesel but your heart says V6 petrol every time!

With the Mods listed elsewhere the Diesel will be pushing over 170BHP,
but if you are doing a lot of miles, I do 40,000PA, thats when the Diesel really makes sense.
