Bleed Coolant on a v6

I'm sure its been discussed numerous times but a few searches did'nt really turn up a definative guide.

How do you go about bleeding the coolant system on a 2.5 v6? How many bleed screws are there and where are they located?

There's one bleed screw and it's in the hose which can be found to the left of the battery box. You'll need to remove the expansion tank and raise it during the filling/venting process. It's best to get a Haynes manual which lists the entire procedure.

Definative way is to fill it via the vacuum method but unless you have a pela pump or similar you wont be able to do that.

Another way is to unbolt the exp vessel and hold it as high as you can the bleed screw on the KV6 is under the air intake on the pass side, remove the air box top and rubber hose connected to the throttle body and it is built into one of the large hoses revealed below. bit of an ongoing process really, make sure the heater is on etc.

What has caused you to need to refill the system?

Nothing yet, but the metal coolant rail (?) at the front is very rusty, so planning on making a replacement before it rusts through.
