I've been with Bt for nearly 6 years now, and never had a problem. It's not cheap, but I regularly get connection at 8.1Mb.

I wouldn't personally touch AOL with a barge pole.

I have Sky broadband I think it works out about £16.00 a monthbut not to sure as it is paid for in a package with sky plus etc, apart from a small hiccup with my email a few weeks ago (now resolved) touble free for the last fifteen months.

I was warned to steer clear of AOL aswell..

I am also with BT, again as I get a full 8.1 80% of the time, any problems have been quickly sorted (just a minor one in 2 years when my broadband phone went off - sorted in less than 2 hours) and as for AOL? erm.. it's actually not that bad to be honest, and up until the carphone warehouse took them over it would have been my next choice, however thier call-center based "help" lines can cause major frustration (as can BT's although to a lesser extent) I have had to call them on a number of occasions on behalf of customers, and sometimes I just cannot understand them at all. I do really believe call centers in the UK should be regional.

Over here we get no cable or no digital TV so all we have is the usual line-up, all of whom use BT's network anyway.

My choice would be Demon, priced higher than most (from £18/mo) I know...but you pays your money and takes your choice. I've been a continuous customer of theirs for over 10 years, no regrets.
