I have a rover 75 2ltr deisel KF51 YZU.
I don't have any hat in the car the passenge side blows really cold and the drivers side is nearly lukewarm.
I new that the cruise control did'nt work. but not sure why??
Reverse parking gives a loud 5 second bleep and nothing else but my break lights work.
Heated seats don't work.
The screen on the computer on the dash looks like it is wearing a kilt lol. all checked.
The rev counter guage dosent move.
The temprature guage dosent move either.
I hav checked all the fuse which are all ok.

First of all welcome to the club

You should check the plenums for water which is a simple check to do if there is water in there it can cause electrical problems as the ECU is located in the same area

Does your heated rear screen work, if not you could have a wiring issue see the thread below for more info

http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ht=Rev+counter

Once you have eliminated any wiring issue you will possibly fix some of the electrical problems

Wecome to the club.

How about a battery disconnect for about 30mins ?
(Aswell as checking the Plenums of course !)

Make sure you have your radio code to hand (unless you have the SatNav/Tv option)

It can cure all sorts of strange problems !!

Just as an added thought, if you've only just bought this from a dealer, did you have any warranty with it ? (you've should have had at least 3mths)

Hi and thank you I havent noticed if the heated rear screen works or not but I will check it out.
How and where do I find the plenums for water????
I wasent given a code for the radio code I dont have it. I have the radio with the low satnav and a 6 multi changer, have you got any clues where I would get a code for this????
Thanks again it nice to be apart of a club that cares after its members.

See this video to know how to check the plenums, when you see the torch shining down the plenum area there is a drain hole so if there is water in yours you need a rod or similar to poke down and unblock the drain hole which will allow the water to drain away

Leigh,

If you live in the UK the dealer is legally required to be given the opportunity to repair that long list of faults. So take it back to the dealer. If you don't get satisfaction you can take the dealer to the County Court who I'm sure will look upon you very sympathetically.

Simon.

Hi Simon thanks for the advice the only problem that I have is that I live in Fife Scotland and I bought the car Rochale it would cost me the fuel money and the money to hire out a car to get my one fixed. No to sure witch would be better to do. Also I am sure that he said that it was sold as seen although I traded my old car in to get this one.

If these fault were not declared to you at the time of purchase, you are legally entitled to either your money back, or a repair. It is your choice under the Sale of Goods Act 1979.

Advise the dealer of the faults and decide what you want to do. Be firm with the dealer as you have legal rights that the dealer cannot take away.

Sold as seen is not a legal get out for the dealer, your legal right are just that and trump any claims the dealer tries to make regarding your liability for the faults on this car.

Personal I would reject the car and ask for my old car back plus the additional cash and look for something near home.

That list of faults is going to cost you much more than the round trip back to the dealer to collect your old car.
