last weekend retro fitted these to the mighty ztt.all new nuts bolts gaskets e.tc. however one side had a damaged casing.stripped it down today .changed the motor over.their is no difference to the powerfold.to the none powerfold.so far so good but the new gaskets where soaked .i could have wrung them out.now sealed with black sealant ,.is this a problem? as far as i am concerned it is discuss:shrug:

I had this too.

I completely dried the gaskets/foam pieces out and then fitted the stanchions with flexible black gutter sealant around them.... hopefully that'll do the trick.

The wet gaskets/foam pieces can be a potential future rust problem and possibly cause corrosion in the mirror wiring connectors.

I think they are there for sound proofing, as far as I can see they don't really work as gaskets as such? Either that or they're just rubbish at gasketing, hence becoming completely soaked and letting water into the door panel.
