Locked out - (Yr 2001 75 estate)
My key fob is broken. The key will make the indicators blink 'locked' when turned counter clockwise. No clunk, resistance or noise when turned clockwise for open.
I am locked out. The windscreen cracked last week (MOT fail), so I called the insurance company thinking they would remove the windscreen so I could get in - but it is against their policy to remove a window without gaining access to the car - and I can't put a brick though it and expect them to replace it. Oh I superglued the metal key into the fob yesterday as it fell out - and got access to the car and used it all day. I also ordered a new fob cover and buttons to solder in on ebay. I also replaced the fob battery and made contact with the circuit board connections for the missing button and the fob light did not come on - so I think the fob may be broken and I can't find the spare. What is the best way to break into my own car and cause the least (cheapest and easiest to repair) damage? I am about to look on ebay for driver windows. |

Please note that if it's deadlocked then you won't be able to open a door from the inside even if you break a window ;) You need to be able to turn on the ignition with the key ;)
