Front left lower suspension track control arm
hi to all
the bush on the front suspension arm needs to be changed now i have managed to tale the 2 bolts off the bush and with some hassle got the hub ball joint free the way i did it was i had a thin chisel and knocked it into the clamp and this then opened the clamp up and the ball joint just fell out but i am having trouble with the tapered ball joint i have hit it and hit it and it still wont come loose now my best mate did the drivers side for me a couple of years ago but sadly he is no longer with us what he did was he had a scissors jack and a trolly jack placed the trolly jack under neath the ball joint with the scissors jack on top then jacked up until the scissors jack went over the thread of the ball joint but the scissors jack must be at the same angle as the ball joint this the applied pressure forcing the ball joint upwards then hit the subframe with a heavy hammer a couple of blows and it came loose i am going to try this tomorrow but does any one else have any suggestions david |

Hi Laurence,
Not being a fan of heavy hammer blows, here's how I did it, taken from the thread to which Lee has linked. Simon |

thank you for the info i have googled the puller and it is no longer available

Try this David.
Available from this supplier from whom I have bought recently. I had inserted a space in the original part number which caused a hiccup, sorry! Simon |
A big hammer and get the car high enough to allow for a good swing with said hammer.
I've done in excess of 50 of these and the hammer is the best way. Sent from my SM-G780G using Tapatalk |

No need to buy expensive tools as Trikey says big hammer will do it every time
