Cannot open hotmail.com
I opened up my hotmail account this morning and it all worked as it should. I read my emails and deleted the ones I didn't want to keep. When I next opened hotmail again, the site kept on trying to open but just seems to go round in a circle.
I noticed a padlock symbol next to the address bar which I hadn't seen before and this seems to be stopping hotmail from opening. I would appreciate any adivice on how to remove the padlock or what settings I need. I haven't changed any security settings and I even did a system restore to yesterdays date to no avail. Everything else works OK. Thanks James |
The padlock symbol shows it's a secure site, nothing to worry about.
Are you trying to access from home or work? Place I work at has recently blocked Hotmail. |

Thats odd then.
Have you changed any security settings? Might be worth dropping it down to medium, if it's set on high. |

Delete cookies, history and cache. Then type in address to hotmail home page. Do not use a bookmark or popup previous address. Then login in the normal way and see how that works. If OK then bookmark and throw away the original. Hope this helps |
Try one or all of the following.
1) Are you using MSN Messenger? If you are, you could try accessing Hotmail through there. 2) Have you checked if you have CAPS LOCK on? Sometimes you can miss that and your Password will be wrong. 3) Restart PC - open www.hotmail.com - choose login with DIFFERENT account name - choose "any name you can think of"@hotmail.com and log on (it will refuse). This will clear your login with Hotmail. Then try with your own account name and pswd again. Spôôk |
Thanks for all the advice. It seems to have worked as I have not had any trouble getting into my emails this morning.
Just hope it stays this way as this laptop comes very close to getting a slt water grave:D James |
