ZT 1.8T +160 What oil do I need for my ZT service

My ZT is booked in for a service at my local VW garage.

I agreed I would supply filters, plugs etc. to ensure genuine parts used (warrenty requirement). I now need to purchase engine oil as VW garage says "theirs tends to burn away"

So can any one help with best oil for the job and how much will be needed ??

Many thanks

I can't believe what you just wrote  What are they using cold pressed Olive oil. WTF.

I use Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 Semi Synthetic.
Fully synthetic would be 0W-40 (Almost any manufacturer)

Change details are here:-

Are you sure you want these people to touch your car? :(

Thanks for the info.

I owned a golf until recently and the garage I'm using is a reputable main dealer. The comment on oil burning was made to me by my son in law (service manager at the garage). To put this into perspective we are talking of a small loss but I feel any burning cannot be a good thing. Having said that I'm not a mechanic.

Again thanks for your help
