Default Split pipe off turbo (1.8T) (MERGED with "Engine Cutting at High Revs")

Hi guys

Been having a good look around my engine bay to see if anything obvious is causing a slight misfire I have at high rpm (see my other posts)

Anyway i've noticed on the main air tube coming from the left side (near side)of the turbo there is a smaller tube Tee'd into it on top and this seems to be split and there appears to be oil residue all around the split

As there is oil around is this some kind of crankcase breather? and what effect on performance is this likely to have?

Ive tried to take a photo of the split but it was difficult to get a good picture as it is tucked away under coolant hoses etc
