Default KV6 coolant bleed screw replacement

The bleed screw on the bottom coolant hose of my 2.5 KV6 is weeping coolant and I don't want to risk tightening the existing screw any further in case the head shears off.
I have a replacement bleed screw and presume that if I keep the cooling system sealed whilst replacing the screw there will be minimal loss of coolant, I plan on replacing the screw as follows:
  1. Allow the cooling system to fully cool
  2. Remove the expansion cap to release any residual pressure in the system
  3. Replace the expansion tank cap
  4. Remove the bleed screw and clean the mating face on the threaded boss on the hose
  5. Fit the new screw and tighten sufficient to seal
By replacing the expansion tank cap this should hold a vacuum on the system to minimise loss of coolant.
Hopefully the threads in the boss on the hose will be OK!
