The likelihood is that it must have been dropped/misplaced when manipulating the shafts at the time of the MOT repairs almost 2 months ago.

Well done Ian to you and your experienced third party for a successful inspection and diagnosis. Of course it's something that we forum enthusiasts didn't stand a chance of finding.

Is a garage responsible for these MOT repairs? Íf so, the degree of carelessness and dishonesty is quite unbelievable.

Looking at parts availability from Rimmer's I think you'll have quite a task on your hands. Do keep us informed though Ian.
