If you want a good quality "LCD" type monitor display with good viewing angles, colours and contrast, you need one based on a good quality IPS panel (not cheap IPS panel either). It will be as good as an IPS panel from around 2003 but will cost significantly less.
Monitors described as LED are generally TN panel LCD with LED backlighting rather than CCFL. In other words, cheap and relatively low quality.
Quality still costs - expect to pay £200+ for a good quality 24-inch monitor.
A Dell Ultrasharp Pxxxx or Uxxxx monitor will be very good.
