Hi - Thanks to you all - the problem was the switch (which is possible to remove (just) with a ring spanner once the wheel is removed).
Yes the circuit is on number 23 fuse rated 5 Amps, 5 from the top and 3 in from the door (on the other set-up it is fuse 41 and is rated at 10 Amps)...
Anyway the switch has been cleaned and now working but I've ordered a new one to fit in the future.
What can I say a GREAT CAR & A GREAT FORUM - truley a car driven by gentlemen (gentlefolk!) of the road.

ARTIC - If you can scan and post the document for me & others - I am sure there will be other times when I need to check fuses and your information will be invaluable.
