I would say the vast majority of cars pass their first mot. Pass rate depends on what you work on, main dealers will have a low fail rate due to servicing and preventative maintenance. Once cars get to about 6 or 7 years old service history isn't as important which is when issues aren't picked up on before the mot. An independent working on cars 6 years and older will have a lower pass rate.
