My knowledge is not great.....sorry. All I can say is that I used the kit and patch lead in the link I posted and it works just fine. It also extended the leads making it far easier to get everything connected, because I found without it my cable were a little short.
If you dont need the kit it will certainly make things cheaper, but in the halfords description it does mention a similar kit is required to the one I mentioned.
