Thanks for the update. Your running temperatures are fine now. Your previous coolant loss was most likely through the cap due to high temperatures caused by the radiator fan fault, but check in the 'V' for leaking 'O' rings which is the most common place on this engine. You won't have head gasket failure or dropped liners. Your mechanic just cannot accept that you had a simple overheating problem.
