I am trying to do something similar to you...Im going to fit a 2 speed motor off a petrol model to my existing 3 speed connection box. I intend to use the wires off the 2 speed(including newly fitted resistor) and just join the wires to the wires coming out of my 3 speed box. I havent got the car dismantled yet, so cant see what wires come out of the 3 speed box, but dont think i have to change polarity.....Mines a 2001 model
