1) Diagnosing PC faults without seeing it is notoriously difficult.
2) A flat BIOS battery can affect performance, eg turning off hyperthreading, slowing down memory access, etc.
3) If spyware detection using Malwarebytes or Superantispyware fails to find anything, then if the computer is more than 3 years old, I always suspect hard disk problems. Run the manufacturer's hard disk diagnostics, followed by a full checkdsk. Most times, this fixes a slow computer. But I refer you to (1) !
