managed to change the cigar lighter flap yesterday but could not do it in situ so removed the ashtray, cup holder assembly and put the lot on the workbench.
Didnt have to remove the stereo just the atc, which was straight forward with a pull off cover and 4 screws underneath that as advised above.
The cigar flap is hinged at the bottom which is the obvious bit so to remove just gently prise out, but watch for flying springs which have to go back.
What is not so obvious is that on the left off the flap is a plastic arm which fits in a hole on the flap the other end is attached to the lighter mechanism so when the flap comes down it draws the lighter out.
The whole job wasnt too bad at all, its just that initial fear of the unknown when you do something for the first time.
Will post some pics of my new dash and bargain walnut wheel later when batteries charged up on my camera
