Sounds like a nice ploy, but you know what some garages are like. Just change the full wishbone, it's easier. But not on your pocket.

I got two new tyres recently on my 75. I didn't notice for a week or so that there were now only 4 wheel bolts on both front wheels. They lost my locking nut and burst the threads with an oversized key to get my wheels off. And never bothered telling me.
