STRONGLY disagree with you on the rust comments. My 214Si, which is now 21 years old has only ever rusted where there is obvious stone chip damage, mostly on the edge of the sill in front of the rear wheel. The one thing I've always thought of the R8s is how little they rust compared to their rivals at the time.
Similarly, my 1995 220 Turbo Coupe only has one patch of rust, where someone has botched a dent to the N/S quarter panel caused by a minor accident.
My 2005 ZT has a very small patch of rust just above the sill finisher on the front O/S wing caused by a stone chip.
Please find me a 21 year old Ford Escort which has lived outside and been used basically everyday which has as little to no rust. I think you'll struggle personally.
