Oh dear, sounds like the engine oil light pointed towards some serious wear ?
I'd be wanting to fill the bloke in who sold it to me and disconnected the oil pressure gauge! But then again, it could have been the previous owner.
But I would say Labour for an engine change by someone decent is going to be at least £500. But then again what are the chances that the one going in is less than perfect?
