As mentioned not the first time I have seen a dead airbag control unit...Still at least it was "only" that, so a quick swap and reprogram and all sorted (why they went to the effort to remove the warnings is beyond me - at garage labour rates it would still have been cheaper to replace the deceased unit.
Oh well. Good luck with the fan
