If you have FFS and you slacken the unit completely, you will most likely have to renew the cap sealing ring. That means buying a filter element replacement kit at some rediculous price.

My car is a late 2001, is there a set of vin no's that are susceptible , or is it a case of take it out to see? (How do you tell by looking)
Can't see that mentioned anywhere

For now I haven't got FFS , but would rather prevent the problem than have a wait for a tow truck
