We've got a similar problem in our Avondale Argente.

Went away last year and noticed the wall above the front seat was soft. I am presuming the water is getting in where the awning rail meets the side of the van.

I bought some seam sealer online and special 'flexi' silicone intended for caravans. I've simply not had the time to do it over the winter so we've just put the cover on her and it seems to have stopped.

Will tackle when I have a free weekend and the weather brightens up. Agree that wood hardener sounds like a good course of treatment once the source of the leak has been located.
