Default Cd/tape/ Radio Upgrade Info Please

My 75 has the original cassette radio fitted, but i want a CD player instead.
My options are as follows.
1,Use the CD player i removed from the old car, works well and looks good, but would then need to buy a surround.

2,Buy a CD player and surround (seen on Ebayand Halfords)
OR the radio cassette has a CD button, does this mean i could buy a seperate multi changer and lead, this would allow me to keep the original look of the dashboard? Can this be done?

I would just put the changer in boot or glovebox?
I am competent enough to fit it all myself (Arent i ?)
Thanks in advance.

Personally I'd get a rover original surround (The ebay ones are much cheaper bu thtey are cheaper to look at as well)

and either use your old unit as stated or buy a new standard one.

I've got a cheapo unit in the car but I'm very impressed with it. I bought it form Lidl and it plays SD cards, has a USB socket as well for extra connections and has a CD player.. The latest one even has bluetooth handsfree and it only costs £50.

The sound qualty of the head unit is superior to the speakers so unless you are going to buy new speakers as well do it the cheap way.

This sounds good to me,speaker upgrade isnt a problem really.
I will keep an eye out, as we have a Lidl not far away.
Thanks for the info.
