Default Does the FBH have its own temp sensor?

Or does it use the car sensor?

Only this evening, on the way home from work, it didn't kick in on its own at the 4'c that my dashboard was saying it was. It should kick in on anything under 5'c for a cold engine.

It works fine on the timer or manual override, so the FBH is largely ok, but I've noticed before that it sometimes fails to kick in on its own....

Yes, the FBH has its own ambient sensor.

See Item 6 here: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID001618

Thank you. In which case then, it seems to be out! I can live with that. I'll keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, either just live with the timer and override, or replace the sensor (if it is an option).

Morning Nick. My fbh sensor triggers when the dashboard reading is around 3c. If you want to check if the sensor is working at all, give it a squirt of electrical freezer spray.

Default testing for faulty sensor.

The best way to test it ,is to unplug it ,and short it out with a piece of wire , this will fire heater into life. mine didnt work, did this test and it fired into life. do test with engine running. mine cuts in at 4.5c and cuts off when engine temp at 70c.
